Handels Hotel in the heart of Dublin is our first rest place in Dublin.
"It is a one-of-a-kind hotel in the heart of Dublin's medieval district located on the site where Handels' Messiah was first performed" (official website)
It was completely refurbished during Covid so is pretty modern hotel neutral inside and out. Apparently it is on a quiet street on the edge of the Temple Bar district.
While that may not seem very exciting, just look at where it is located:
How many genealogy and history venues are within 1km walk of our hotel?
St Stephen's green
Trinity College
National Museum of Ireland - Natural History
National Gallery of Ireland
Dublin Castle
St Patrick's Cathedral
Epic the Irish Emigration Museum
General Post Office (for my collection, of course)
The Jeanie Johnson An Irish Famine Story
Museum of Literature Ireland
Portobello and Quaysides a plenty.
Stay tuned for what happens here.
